Who We Are
Legionaries of Christ
The two-year Humanities program leads to an Associate of Arts degree.
We Have An International Academic Community
The Legionaries of Christ are a pontifical Congregation of priests and religious preparing for the priesthood in the Catholic Church. It is dedicated to form apostles, that is, clergy and lay people sent to transmit the faith to others in order to build up the Kingdom of Christ in society. This means to evangelize culture and build a civilization of justice and love, a task that is carried out through prayer, sacramental life, and the apostolate.
We ARE PART OF THE REGNUM CHRISTI FEDERATION
As part of the Regnum Christi Federation, the Legionaries of Christ are active in 21 countries in the areas of education, family, youth, media, catechesis, human development, and missions. Legionaries currently direct over a dozen universities, more than 154 schools, 14 institutes of higher education, and 8 houses of formation for the training of their own priests worldwide.
We DEDICATE 2 YEARS TO A PROGRAM OF HUMANITIES
A Legionary begins his life in the Congregation after a short period of candidacy, with a two-year period as a novice, a time that culminates in the profession of the religious vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. He then dedicates two years to a program of Humanities, followed by a period of three years in Rome to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Two or three years of apostolic internship provide a first experience of full-time work in one of the Legion’s apostolates. The last state of formation consists in three years of Theology studies towards a Bachelor’s degree and concludes with priestly ordination.
