Jim Fair was born in Columbus, OH. He holds a B.A. in History (with a Minor in Political Science and Philosophy) and a M.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois. and enjoys reading, sports and music. Jim enjoyed a 23-year career in various communications roles for Amoco Corporation and BP. Before that, he worked as a newspaper reporter, photographer and editor. He has served as president of the Chicago Public Relations Forum, chairman of the American Petroleum Institute General Committee on Communications and a fellow of Greater Leadership Chicago. He was a member of the founding committee of the chemical industry’s Responsible Care Program. He is a convert to the Catholic faith In May 2001 he began to help Legionaries and Regnum Christi members to improve relations with bishops and other Catholic leaders and is now the official spokesman of the Regnum Christi Movement. He and his wife, Charmaine, have a son (33) and daughter (26), both married.
