th, we had the opportunity to visit the Frick Collection and the MET, in New York City. These are great opportunities to see firsthand what they have studied. The Frick Collection presented a special exhibition of Murillo’s portraits, which we spent time studying and discussing.

The year of Consecrated Life has long since passed. It has been two years since Pope Francis invited all consecrated people to reflect on their call. The fruits of his effort continue to transform the church and to bring all consecrated people together.
In the spirit of that year of Consecrated life, the archdiocese of Hartford organized an evening event to bring all the religious of the archdiocese together for a Eucharistic Celebration with the Archbishop of Hartford, Bishop Leonard Blair. A nice dinner followed at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT.

Death is a strange thought when the breeze is soft and a late autumn day is warm. Every year it is our tradition as Legionaries to visit a cemetery to pray for the dead. As we walk among the tombstones, rosaries in hand, we cannot but stop and reflect on our own lives and, more painfully present, on our own deaths. In years past it was relatively easy for me to meditate on death while the November days were dark and gloomy, cold and well… dead.
