Our Legionary family here in Cheshire opened up our doors on the night of November 11, 2018 for the Ninth Annual Benefit Dinner, in support of the continued work of the seminary. The night started with Mass at five o’clock, celebrated by Fr. John Connor, LC, the territorial director of the Legion of Christ, with a homily given by territorial secretary Fr. Michael Brisson, LC. After some cocktails and grace, the benefit dinner began in earnest, with the keynote address being delivered by Fr. John Connor. After the keynote address, Fr. Connor awarded the first-ever
Br. Anthony Freeman Award in honor of our late brother to the family of Deacon Nathan Wayne, a classmate of Br. Anthony’s, represented by his mother. Br. Anthony passed away on April 14, 2018 in Rome, after finishing Spiritual Exercises in preparation for the diaconate. Nearing the end of the meal, the College Choir came forward to sing a few songs, and close out the night with a prayer and the
Salve Regina. At the end of the night, we surpassed our intended goal, which enabled us to continue work on some of our biggest projects, including one for the benefit of all: a newly-paved driveway!
