We were then happy to enjoy an exclusive tour through the Yale Classics Department and the Yale Sterling Library.
Dr. Pauline LeVen, Assistant Professor for Classics, and the librarian Colin McCaffrey kindly accompanied us and were ready to answer all our questions.
We were also able to see the Music Library and some items from the special collection there.
In the afternoon, we spent time at the Yale Gallery of Art. Our classics professor, Dr. Charles Mercier, offered explanations to the Dura Europos exhibition, which features excavations of a late Roman city at the Eastern border of the empire where a pagan, Jewish, and Christian places of worship were found side-by-side with artwork of remarkable value.
