The year of Consecrated Life has long since passed. It has been two years since Pope Francis invited all consecrated people to reflect on their call. The fruits of his effort continue to transform the church and to bring all consecrated people together.
In the spirit of that year of Consecrated life, the archdiocese of Hartford organized an evening event to bring all the religious of the archdiocese together for a Eucharistic Celebration with the Archbishop of Hartford, Bishop Leonard Blair. A nice dinner followed at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT.
Pope Francis’ words to the consecrated two year ago still resound today, “This is the beauty of consecration: it is joy, the joy of bringing God’s consolation to all.” This beauty of consecration was a great part of the evening. Our entire Legionary community was present together with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, the Apostles of the Sacred Heart, a Dominican priest and even a hermit who renewed his promise to live as a hermit for another year. Joy was very much a part of the gathering as we all shared our experiences, talking of how God has touched our lives and sharing the moments in which we have been able to bring God’s joy to others through our consecration.
Please continue to pray for vocations to the consecrated life.
