Dr. David Pence traveled the two hours from Boston to Cheshire to present to the student body a handful of weighty arguments concerning the presence of the divine within the world of science. Making a case for seven instances of “sacramentality in nature” (physical signs of spiritual realities in nature), he expounded on various scientific themes: the initial formation of matter, the nature of atomic bonding patterns, and the principle of cephalization within social structures, to name a few. His factually based and well-prepared lecture certainly rendered his positions compelling.
